Client Background
Boral Is one of Australia’s leading providers in asphalt, cement, concrete, natural resources from quarries and so on. Boral is undergoing large structural change as a result of changes in the market, COVID-19 and Boral Senior Management.
Points of Interest
CR Commercial Property Group was engaged by Boral to deliver its workplace strategy and space planning assessment, as well as act as the superintendent to manage it office refurbishment and centralisation to North Ryde. This process saw Boral consolidate its corporate Sydney office portfolio from ~6500sqm down to ~4000sqm.
As part of the process, CR assisted with implementing the framework which would empower Boral to implement flexible working at a ratio of 60% working from the office to 40% working from home. .
CR’s tight management and daily Stakeholder Engagement saw the project delivered in record time between November and March throughout the Omicron wave of COVID-19. Managing a largescale project amongst the added pressure of labour shortages and heightened material costs.
As the Superintendent, CRCPG engaged the builder and an architect, always keeping our client’s interest first and foremost, to deliver their new fitout concept within the required timeframes. CRCPG also managed the entire staff relocation, ensuring zero disruption to business.
The Result
Boral consolidated their leasing portfolio and moved into their new premises on time and under budget in March 2022. The team were more than satisfied with the result, a considerable upgrade from their existing premises and a great implementation of the New Ways of Working workplace strategy model.
