CLIENT BACKGROUND

National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI ) is national standards and certifying authority for translators and interpreters in Australia. It is the only organisation to issue certification to practitioners who wish to work in this profession in Australia.

POINTS OF NOTE

CR Commercial Property Group was engaged by NAATI to deliver its end-to-end property services for their Melbourne office.  This was of particular benefit to NAATI given it was their first office expansion and relocation in Melbourne since the early 2000’s.

As a organisation that conducts testing to certify translators and interpreters in Australia, NAATI had previously conducted their testing at off-site locations across Melbourne’s CBD. As part of their new strategy, NAATI wanted to bring all testing in-house to reduce costs and improve logistics for both staff and applicants.

Our in-depth knowledge of the Melbourne CBD property market was a particular asset to NAATI as we successfully shortlisted and secured an open plan office space  which not only suited NAATI’s business perfectly, but also provided attractive lease incentives.

CRCPG was also engaged as the project manager to oversee the fitout of NAATI’s new premises that combined both it’s corporate office and testing centre, a first for the organisation. CRCPG engaged a builder and an architect, always keeping our client’s interest first and foremost, to deliver their new fitout concept within the required timeframes. CRCPG also managed the entire staff relocation, ensuring zero disruption to business.

THE RESULT

NAATI moved into their new premises on time and under budget in the beginning of December 2019. The team were more than satisfied with the result, a considerable upgrade from their existing premises from both a functional and aesthetics point of view.

NAATI’s senior management and board of directors are now adopting the same approach for their other offices across the country, providing a tremendous reduction in costs and improved facilities for its staff and candidates.
