One of Australia’s leading CEOs recently said: “You can complete a task from home, but you cannot do your job from home.”
So, the question stands, what do you need to do to get your teams back into the office more consistently? Statistics released by PWC shows that flexibility for the workforce is here to stay.
As per the recent AFR article, on average, 44% of employees attended the offices 5 days per week annually, pre-COVID. This number has now dropped to only 4%.
The office is no longer the primary location for completing solo work tasks, it is a place where workers craving social interaction come to collaborate, learn the culture of the organisation, be taught by mentors, and understand succession planning.
Dr Ben Hamer; Director at PwC supports this position – the workplace must provide facilities and features unattainable when working from home.
Collaboration is the key to future business growth, and we must redesign workplaces to protect this endangered professional asset.
