Client Background
Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is the leading provider of Guide Dogs and orientation and mobility services that enable people with impaired vision to get around their communities safely and independently. Each year their highly trained Orientation and Mobility specialists work with around 4,000 people of all ages to help them achieve their mobility goals.
Points of Note
CRCPG has been working closely with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT as their independent property advisor, helping to manage and oversee it’s 5-year property strategy, in-line with their new organisational objectives.
Located inside ‘The Octagon’ at 110 George Street Parramatta, ‘The Cameron Centre’ is the first of its kind for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT under its new property strategy and objective. The space brings together Guide Dogs internal staff and medical professionals from the Centre for Eye Health and Low Vision Clinic, allowing a more streamlined experience for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT clients. This space acts as the new benchmark for low vision services for both Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and across the industry.
CRCPG provided the tenant advisory, site selection and negotiated the lease for the site and was also engaged to act as the superintendent on behalf of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT to independently project manage the fitout with a goal of moving staff in before the holiday period.
Over the entirety of the project, CRCPG worked collaboratively with the designers, builders, medical professionals and key internal and external stakeholders to help deliver a space that was not only functional for both staff and clients, but also a state-of-the-art facility that aligned with Guide Dogs branding requirements.
The success of the project and the delivery of this outstanding space over such a short period, was a direct result of intensive, close consultation with the client, builder and design team, along with meticulous planning and execution by CR Commercial Property Group’s delivery team.
The Result
Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Parramatta staff moved into their new premises the week before Christmas. To the delight of Senior Management, as promised by CRCPG the project was not only completed on time and under budget, but also met the expectations of their new property strategy and vision for the future.
